This survey will show how well your organization compares to the generally accepted and expected operating practices. This survey will assist your organization’s ability to be “grant ready” when applying for private or public-sector funding. Senior non-profit organizations produced this survey's content from their personal experience. More specifically, the basis of this survey comes from the Public Standards for Charitable Organizations prepared for the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives by the Calvin Edwards & Company and Performance Results, Inc. These standards are compiled from eleven national, non-profit organizations who have specific support or oversight responsibilities to their member organizations. This survey is voluntary and useful: the system will help you develop a plan to strengthen your organization. Users should access this survey and respond to questions concerning their own organization’s management, governance, staffing, finances, program and evaluation activities. Based on these responses, you will be advised on how to attain a similar level of compliance as the aforementioned eleven national non-profit organizations. By sharing the survey responses with your staff and/or board of directors, you can begin a process of organizational strengthening. Once the organization has made corrections to those areas identified as weaknesses, you will have greatly increased your organization's ability to acquire grants.
